The Sioux Indian Museum dedicates itself to educating its visitors on 200-plus years of Lakota history, tracing the characters and events that impacted the proud tribe, for better or for worse. The museum is located just north of the downtown area, in the luscious meadows west of Roosevelt Park. The historic journey begins in museum's theatre, with a short film that covers 2.5 billion years of history, and continues through a series of galleries displaying crafts and artifacts from around the region.
